About Our Paving Work

Asphalt Paving Waterbury paves and maintains driveways, private roads and parking areas in Waterbury and the Naugatuck Valley towns around it: Naugatuck, Watertown, Wolcott, Middlebury, Prospect, Cheshire and beyond. The work includes new and replacement driveways, overlays, parking lots, driveway sealcoating, patching and drainage corrections.

Waterbury is a city of hills. The valley floor sits near 220 feet and neighborhoods climb to around 820, so a large share of the driveways we see are sloped, some steeply. On a hill, the question is never only "what does it cost to pave?" It is also "where does the water go, and will the edges hold?" Our estimates answer both.

How an estimate works

We come out, measure, and look at the whole site: the grade, the condition of the old surface, soft spots, retaining walls, the joint at the garage, the apron at the street and the path water takes in a storm. Then you get a written scope. It lists removal, the depth of processed stone base, the compacted asphalt thickness, edging (berm, wedge or flush), and any drainage work, each with its price.

What we will not do

• Pave over a failed base and call it a new driveway
• Leave depths off a quote
• Start work at the street apron without checking what the city, town or CTDOT requires
• Sealcoat asphalt that has not had time to cure
